Nicky Clarke Wins Best Curling Tong At Hair Awards

The PHA F&L team are delighted to announce that the Nicky Clarke Classic Slim Tong has been awarded the prestigious Hair Magazine Award for Best Curling Tong. The slim barrel tong scooped the award, beating off stiff competition to be officially named as the best! The Best Curling Tong award was part of Hair Magazines ‘Super 60’ product awards, for which over 1000 products were shortlisted. The tong was put through its paces by a panel of judges, including the magazine’s editors as well as its readers. The team attended the awards at the Sadler’s Wells Theatre, hosted by TV presenter and actress Zoe Hardman and hairdresser Michael Douglas.

Candice is founder of the Fresh2o social enterprise, an organisation dedicated to raising awareness and financial support to help remedy the global water crisis that is killing 5,000 children each day and leaving over 2.6 billion impoverished people without clean water.

PHA has signed Dormeo Octaspring following a hugely successful launch year for the brand which has seen them securing nearly 300 UK retailers, as well as international expansion in USA, Canada and Ireland.

Dormeo Octaspring has launched one of the most innovative sleep products on the market in recent years; a mattress that has been engineered with memory foam springs, to make it one of the most comfortable and clean products on market.

The team will now be working to implement a fully integrated PR campaign, running both the press office and driving engagement through various social media platforms.

An Epic November For PHA

November saw the launch of Disney’s latest video game Epic Mickey 2: The Power of Two and PHA Media were appointed to lead the PR campaign, a hugely exciting project split across the Fashion & Lifestyle and Sport & Leisure departments.

The game sees Mickey Mouse and Walt Disney’s first character, Oswald the Lucky Rabbit, reunited on a quest to save Wasteland, an alternate world filled with lost Disney characters and theme park attractions. Echoing this theme and the inspiration for the game, PHA set up a pop-up gallery in Westfield Stratford, displaying artwork from the Walt Disney Archives in LA.

From early animation drawings through to exclusive artwork from Disney Epic Mickey 2: The Power of Two, the exhibition brought together the fascinating Disney history which inspired Wasteland. Rare sketches from early Oswald animations and Mickey Mouse’s first ever cartoon Steamboat Willie were on display, as well as the first pencil concept sketch of the original Disneyland park in California, which was created in a single weekend and taken to New York to secure funding for the park.

As well as the artwork, the three day event offered shoppers the chance to play the new game, make their own drawings on a state of the art digital graffiti wall and even have a custom sketch drawn by Disney animator Fabrizio Petrossi.

The launch was a huge success and resulted in a variety of coverage, including a four page spread in The Sunday Times Magazine following their trip to the Archives in LA and features in the Evening Standard, Metro, Mail Online and Telegraph Online to name but a few.

Karidis Launch Brand New Clinic

After months of preparation the new Karidis clinic based within the Hospital of St John and St Elizabeth has finally opened its doors. The new clinic for the first time brings all surgical and non-surgical treatment offerings under one roof in one dedicated space. The move also coincides with Mr Karidis’ 15^th anniversary practicing in St John’s Wood and has proved very exciting for both him and his team. PHA will be working with Karidis over the coming weeks to highlight the fab facilities and treatments that the clinic has to offer to both the national and regional press along with an official launch.

This weekend the Health team organised the annual Streamline Surgical tea party. Taking place at the new Sudbury Clinic, the event was attended by current and previous patients as well as Streamline Surgical’s surgeons Mr. Guy Slater and Mr. Shaw Somers. The tea party was a celebration of the weight loss achievements of Streamline Surgical’s patients. The Mail on Sunday’s YOU magazine were also in attendance for the event, photographing and interviewing case studies for an exclusive feature. It was a fun and enjoyable day and a great opportunity to meet both case studies and the media.
