Phil Hall, Chairman
PHA Media founder and Chairman Phil Hall is an award winning journalist with over 30 years of experience.
Phil was editor of Britain’s biggest selling newspaper the News of the World for five years before taking up the reins as editor-in-chief of the world’s most well known celebrity magazine, Hello! He later became editorial director of development for Trinity Mirror, Europe’s largest newspaper publishing group.
Phil regularly features as a media commentator for BBC, ITN, Sky News, Radio 5 Live and LBC and has written for various titles including the Independent and the Guardian.
As well as his wealth of journalism experience across all sectors of the media Phil has held influential positions on the Press Complaints Commission the industries regulator, first as a senior representative of the newspaper industry and then for an unprecedented time as the representative of the magazine world. This combined experience means that Phil has a second to none understanding of how the media works at all levels. Which is why Phil has been called on to represent clients as part of an integrated team with some of the countries top media lawyers on some of the media’s highest profile stories.
As our Chairman, Phil specialises in reputation management and when called for, crisis management, advising high profile businesses and personalities on how to best engage with the media including increasingly the online community. He is well known for his success in both protecting and enhancing reputations.
